Grace and Thomas's wedding was in Charlottesville, surrounded by the soft hills of Virginia and the kind of joy that doesn’t need much direction. We had done a last-minute engagement session in Washington, DC a few weeks earlier, so when the wedding arrived, it felt like catching up with old friends.

One of my favorite details was that Grace’s wedding dress was handmade by her mom. It was such a beautiful reflection of how personal and meaningful the day was. I photographed it all quietly, focusing on the emotion, the energy between them, and the way their people showed up for them.

Simple, sincere, and full of feeling. This one was special.
